Animation fixes, midway test pt. 1

I have begun working on my showreel. Or what will one day be a showreel. At the moment it is just filled with half finished stuff that I KNOW I can do better. I just have to put in a lot of extra work. I have started with this shot because I think it is the best 3D dialogue shot I have made. And I am not sure that I will have time to start a new one. And our bachelor film will not have dialogue. Plus it is fun to work with.
i have a nice list of things that needs fixing still.
And a lot of other shots are to be looked at. My hyena, the shot I did when Michael Berenstein was here (non dialogue acting piece, "The wrong speech" and my exam piece. I hope that will be enough along with (hopefully) a couple of shots from our bach film. And perhaps a couple of 2D shots - I think I have one or two that are nice, but lets see.

The weird animals, now with colours

Colours: markers. Been a while since I've been using those.

Lorenor Zorro

This guy is from the mange series One Piece. In Danish he is called Lorenor Zorro, but I know that in other languages he goes by the name Roronoa Zoro or Lorenor Zoro or anything similar. He is my favourite chracter from the series. He is truly awesome. I wish I could make as nice drawings of him as Eiichiro Oda does.

UTF, The Rejecter

Have been assigned the character we have named the "rejecter". He is the person who tells jobseeking people to "go away, we have found our guy."
I do not htink we will go with the ganster type. I don't know where he came from...

Concept for a location UTF

Was thinking worker like houses - not too shabbe, as our character has been taking good care of his son, and priority one would have been making sure they were living in a safe house.
It is quite a feeble attempt, as I have never really been doing any BG work. But it's good enough to go here anyway. :)

Under the Fold, more development

Had a look at the pipeline and naming convention today - I have been assigned of the flattering Pipeline Pippi role. I believe I might have it figured out for now, and turned to visual development again. These are the best sketches of the day.

what to say

jazz in Silkeborg

During the summer there is something called saturday jazz every saturday noon in Silkeborg. On a sunny saturday this summer a band called Jazz Five played, and I like their music. And they are great fun to draw.

show reel, WIP

Yep, this is what I believe will be my best work. It all needs to be worked over again. I'll be doing that during the summer holidays. The two shot assignment with the guys at the bar was my exam for second year.
I have found somethin strange. When I made a "render" of my exam playblast in premiere and turned it into a quicktime file, it played horribly. Then I made it another type of file, and it suddenly looked nice again. too bad we are going to be judged on the quicktime file...

commercial project; team Happy Pig

The last five weeks we, the BAC 09 at the Animation Workshop, have been producing six 20 sec commercials for the Danish Animal Welfare Society. The group I was in chose to do a spot on the danish pig production.

On this project I did the drawings for the set in the supermarket, some of the set for the outside world, and I animated the pig in the stable shot (both pig and heart).
It was a really nice project to be working on, and we had to find a lot of clever solutions to things - the transitions for example. And how to split up the scenes so that all of us animators would have something to do.

My grandmother, WIP

Here it is again - I haven't had that much time to work on it, but it really has become better. It is quite nice to be working on something like this. I don't usually make portraits and it is a challenge.

quadroped; now rendered and all

Everything but animation done by Morten Bøhne
Animation still needs to be polished a bit, (especially the tail). But wanted you to see how it has turned out. I think it looks nice.
