two owls

Yesterday I felt like doing something for the fun of it. I really love the owls, even the fish-like wings. I messed up the background though.

Slugther

Untitled from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

The last two weeks, we did this short film. The premises were: We were three persons pr. group, e got two styles, an emotion and a random word. Our styles were Gary Baseman and disney 1928-1930, emotion was fear, random word wig. On this we had to make a story, make storyboards, character designs, backgrounds, colours, animation, sound, compositing, moodboards, a poster, planning... and finally get along in the group as well. It has been two very rough weeks, with a lot of work, late hours and stress. But the final result is something to be proud of.

I did
Animation: Long shot of the snails, the fullshot of the snails eating and getting scared, the salt falling, the longshot of the snail and old lady. All of it rough animation, cleanup and colouring.
Background: the background for the fullshot of the snails, a couple of just colour backgrounds.
All the compositing, including finding and adding sounds.

chase scene

Chase scene on roof tops from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

More from this week. assignment was to make a chase scene with interesting layouts. Christoffer Andersen and I did this together, we had a day and a half to finish it- Which is why it is not that pretty. But fun, and I think it works.

Castle, Rendered

The rendered version. There are some mistakes but generally I think I did okay. Rendering is most certainly the thing I like the most.

castle, lineart

This week we were taught, once again, by Lawrence Marvit. This time Layout was the subject. This castle was our first assignment. we had to make a background for the first act in Hamlet, pinnochio style. Fully rendered and everything. this is the lineart, later I'll upload the rendered version + the rest of what we did this week.

sketches, march-april 2010 no2

I like these. Especially the little girl looking at tadpoles.

sketches, march-april 2010 no1

I finally got to colour these drawings. It is all just no-purpose-at-all-sketches from my sketchbook, but I like them anyway. I am not good at using watercolour yet, but I'll get there (hopefully.) I am glad that I have started drawing again. last semestre I felt I had completely abandoned it, which is a shame. I really enjoy drawing while listening to inspiring music.

dance animation

dance animation from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

Five days of work. We could once again choose between some characters and bits of music. I think some parts of this animation works, though th overall thing is a bit weak. I meant it to be that girly.

Different sketches

colour: watercolour or markers. At the moment I am trying out different styles of drawing; I think one ought to be able to do different stuff.

Monsters, sketches

A couple of monsters I felt like drawing. Partially because i felt like colouring in some drawings - that seems to be my major inspirations at the moment. I kind of like these though.

Dialogue, Gorillas

Dialogue; Gorillas from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

this weeks assignment. We had a couple af different characters to choose between, but I figured these two, kerchak and Kala from Tarzan, Disney, would do the most for me.
Unfortunatly, I do not think I did very well. Anyway, this is it.

The Sultan, monologue

Sultan Dialogue from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

we could choose between some characters, and this is what I ended up witk. We could also choose between two different pieces of sound "there never was much hope... only a fools hope", Gandalf, LOTR and this one - probably from one of the American Pie films.
I went for a not so pose to posey animation. And I think I succeeded in it. also, I am quite surprised at how I had already added opposing acting and such in my keys.
all in all, I'm happy about this work.

coloured sketches, people

I felt like playing around with watercolours and markers. Very fun, I think.

animal sketches with colour

Some sketches I wanted to colour with watercolour.

Animation Jam; Lucia in the sky with diamonds

Lucia in the sky with Diamonds from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

The animation my group did during the animation jam week. I thank our director Priit Tender.
The group consisted of:
Drude Mangaard
Christoffer Andersen
Niels Dolmer
Samantha Torres
Jeppe Døcker
Jonas Kirkegaard
Carmen Hannibal
Mikkel Friborg
Simon Bresling
Lasse Rasmussen
Jody Ghani
Dennis Jensen
Søren Nørbæk
And Myself, Stine Frandsen

The Animation Workshop, www.animwork.dk

Priit gave us the designs, and a basic storyline. We did the storyboarding, the animation, most of the jokes, editing and sound. The sound could be a bit better, but due to timepressure, it was not possible to make it better.

Bernard waiting

Bernard waiting for bianca from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

This weeks work - or four days of work, actually. We had to choose another character than last week, something different. And Bernard is quite cool. Assignment: character will be sitting at a table, waiting for someone. You must use 120 frames (5 sec.), ´neither more nor less.
I wanted to do something subtle, and I think I managed to do so.

Character is Bernard from The Rescuers, Disney.

En aften på skolen med photoshop

just having fun the 9th of march 2010. both done in photoshop. I like the woman the best - the guy is a bit weird, but fun to do.

Alice tempted

Alice from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

The, so far, final version of alice. As I haven't got that much sparetime, this is probably as finishd as it will ever be.
enjoy.

Random sketchbook drawings

Just fun, actually. I like the alien.

Animal sketches

Some sketches I did in the evenings monday the 1st and tuesday the 2nd of March, 2010

Week 8, TVpain intro

This week we just had fun, trying out the program TVpaint. Very fun. We had a couple of assignments, such as head turns and takes. Nice getting started at real animation classes again. :)

Hogarth hands

At the moment we are working in TVpaint, loads of fun really. Today I did these hands, just studying the hands on a modelsheet.

Midway Test

Midway Test from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

My midyear test, a "how is the exam going to be"-test. We had a week to make a 120 frame long animation featuring the pink panther. He would be lying on the ground, confused, then get angry, get up, run towards the door and try to open it. This is a version both with and without background. Enjoy.

Jellyfish, with background

jellyfish with background from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

finally, with background. I might do a better version at some point, just to make it prettier. Thanks to Christoffer Andersen, who helped me with some of the programs. :)

Fictional commercial for popsicles

animatic for fictional commercial from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

Christoffer Andersen and I did this short commercial together at school. just an animatic.

Inbetweening, Boris from Balto

inbetweening from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

again, the animation is not my work - only the feet. I did the inbetweening though.

Clean up, Cat R. Waul, American Tail

Clean Up from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

I do in no way take credit for the animation in this clip. All I did was clean up.

MKMC

Mkmc from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

We had some directors from the Danish film school over for a couple of weeks in the fall 2009. this is one of the shots I did for Maremi Watanabe, the director of my group.

Jelly Fish with colour

Jellyfish with colour from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

I finally figured out how to transfer the coloured drawings into a program in which I could time it properly again. I still need to figure out how to do the background though.

Weird guy

A quick drawing I did during TAW-talk.

Jellyfish for fun

Untitled from Stine Agerskov Frandsen on Vimeo.

I wanted to do an easy animation, getting ready for my midyear exam. As I didn't know what else to do, I did a jellyfish. I am going to colour it in as well. :)

Mike; Taste by Roald Dahl

Once more, same concept. One final drawing, some poses with flat colour.

The Maid; Taste by Roald Dahl

The maid - full image with texture, and some poses, as before, not completely done with texture.

Mr Pratt; taste by Roald Dahl

Mr Pratt; the image with texture, and some poses - the colour on those are only to make it read better; they would need texture.

Design, Taste by Roald Dahl

My three character designs for the story Taste by Roald Dahl.
Very different from what I am usually doing, very fun progress.

room and room on fire

Assignment at school, one and a half day of work. Make a room on fire, and use the atmosphere to create space.

animals sketches (from book)

Some quick sketches of animals; unedited.
